Betty Delong

Betty, 79, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born in Lawrence, Michigan on June 17, 1944, to her parents Emma and Ben Stam.


On December 14, 1963, she married Robert DeLong, who survives. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage.


Betty resided in Decatur Michigan throughout much of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, and was active in her church community. Upon retirement Betty and her husband, Bob, moved to Hot Springs Village where they became members of the Barcelona Road Baptist Church.


Other survivors include her son, Daniel DeLong (Karen) of Traverse City; daughters, Julia Walden (Dan) of Augusta, and Linda Edwards (Joe) of Decatur; two grandchildren, Morgan Thomas, and Trenten DeLong; two great grandchildren, Alera and Ridley; and sister Maxine Buss.


Betty was preceded in death by her parents; sister Marilyn Doroh, and son Douglas DeLong.


A memorial service for family and friends will be held at the Barcelona Road Baptist Church on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jon Stubblefield serving as celebrant. 


 A luncheon at the church will follow the service.


The family is being cared for by Cedar Vale Funeral Home and cremation services.
