Joanne J. Dejanovich

Johanna (Joanne) J. DeJanovich of Hot Springs Village passed away peacefully on

September 17, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Joseph

John, and their son, Joseph Arthur. She is survived by her loving family, daughter

-Janet DeJanovich Breen (John); son-Michael (Tara); son -Patrick (girlfriend, Lori

Pond); and daughter-in-law- Irene Webb; grandchildren Daniel (Heather); Kelli Rose

(Kyle Johnson); Samantha Jo; Benjamin; Amanda DeNardo and Haley DeNardo.

Joanne was raised in the Catholic faith and had a lifelong devotion to the Blessed

Mother. She attended St. Xavier College School of Nursing. Her class was the first in

Illinois to receive a Bachelor of Nursing Degree. She was active in her nursing career

for over 50 years, always making advanced education for nurses a priority.

One of the highlights of her retirement was being a part of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic

Church's Rosary Committee. She made each of her children and grandchildren a

personalized rosary. She attended morning mass for as long as she could and prayed for

the Holy Souls in purgatory many times a day. She cherished her church family,

especially, Father Bill Elser, for all his help during her long illness. Mom and the family

wish to express their heartfelt thanks to Sarah Castleberry and the entire staff of Dierksen

Hospice for their loving care and devotion.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September

24, 2022 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 295 Balearic Road, Hot Springs

Village. A Viewing and the Rosary will be held prior to the Mass from 9:00 a.m. to 10

a.m.

In lieu of flowers, mom requests that you have a mass offered for a loved one.
