John Alvin Corzatt

John Alvin Corzatt passed away peacefully at home with his wife, Sandy, at his side on February 7, 2021.
John was born December 19, 1941 in Oak Park, IL to Charles and Margaret Corzatt. He spent his career driving trucks and enjoyed being out on the open road and meeting people along the way, as he never met a stranger. Beacons, Roadway, Consolidated Freight Ways, and Yellow Freight were among the many trucking companies John worked for over the years.
After moving to Texas he met Sandy, who led him to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They married June 9, 1984 in Houston.
Later John bought his own truck and hauled as an independent until he retired. He and Sandy made their home and many friends in Kingwood, TX, Sioux Falls, SD and Hot Springs Village, AR. They made many memories as they enjoyed traveling in the different RVs they owned over the years, as well as going on cruises.
John’s faith was strong and he had a servant’s heart. He poured that into volunteering with many organizations in the Village, such as summer camp for the blind, Lion’s Club, Crystal Chimes, Cocoa, Cookies and Carols, Meals on Wheels, Hot Springs Concert Band and always enjoyed helping friends and neighbors.
John is survived by his beloved wife Sandy Corzatt; his kids: Jim Corzatt (Cindy), Rob Corzatt (Genaye), and Debbie Turyna (Jeff); his grandchildren: Benjamin Corzatt, Danny Turyna, Natalie Corzatt Tayntor (Zachary), Katie Turyna, and Joshua Corzatt; his brothers: Cliff Corzatt (Diane) and Jim Corzatt (Denyce); his sisters: Claudia Snyder (Alan) and Mary Jo Newel.
All of John’s family will forever be grateful to Kindred Hospice and to Nancy, widow of his late brother Richard Corzatt, for providing advice, assistance, and comfort to Sandy in John’s final days and the following.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christian Ministries, PO Box 8500, Hot Springs, AR 71910.
Services will be held at a later date.
