Larry Kenney

Larry Gene “Pepa” Kenney, 81, of Hot Springs Village was born in Jefferson City, Missouri to the late Lawrence and Beulah Kenney and passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, August5, 2022.
Larry graduated from Seneca High School in Seneca, Missouri in 1959 and joined the Navy shortly after. He spent two years serving on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific Ocean, then two years in the reserves. In 1969, he was wed to Dora “Dodie” in Miami, Oklahoma and shortly after began his career with Frisco, later BNSF Railways. Dodie and Larry retired to Hot Springs Village in 2000, and he was loved by the community as well as his family.
Larry was a steady member of church throughout his life and most recently at Village United Methodist Church, a regular golfer, and a shrewd, ruthless poker player. He was always open to board games with his family, loved traveling (especially to see his children and grandkids), and had the gift of discernment. He had a love for antique pottery, hummingbirds and glass sculptures, though his family meant more to him than anything.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Dodie; siblings Wanda (Seneca, Missouri); Joyce (Neosha, Missouri), Carl (Seneca, Missouri), and Pam (Houston, Texas); sons Rick (Mary) of Spring, Texas and Bran (Karen) of Collierville, Tennessee; daughter Tracy (Phillip) of Springfield, Missouri; as well as nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
His memorial will be held October 15, 2022 at 2PM at Village United Methodist Church, 200 Carmona Rd, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909.
Arrangements are under the direction of CedarVale Funeral Home. Tributes and condolences are available at www.CedarValeFuneralHome.com
