Marian Willett

Marian Willett, 93, of Hot Springs Village, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2022.
She was born in Dallas, TX on February 18, 1929. She grew up in Dallas, graduated from North
Dallas High School, and married Gene Willett, Jr. on June 5, 1947. She was 18 and he was 20. They
were married for 63 years. Gene preceded her in death on April 2, 2010. Gene and Marian were
blessed with three daughters.
Besides Gene, also preceding her in death were her mother and her brother.
Marian is survived by daughters Becky Harvey (Bruce) of Hot Springs Village, AR, Judy Avery (Bob)
of Dallas, TX, and Lindy Perez (Ruben) of Richardson, TX; grandchildren Laura Harvey Hilbig (Greg),
Russell Harvey (Kellie), Angela Avery Davis (Blake), Jessica Avery Brown (Josh), and Aaron Perez;
and great-grandchildren Meredith, Amanda, Claire, and Melissa Hilbig; Caleb and Katie Harvey;
Layla, Brooks, and Teel Davis; and Lexi and Gideon Brown; sister-in-law Donna Wills (Don), along
with many nieces and nephews.
As a homemaker, Marian created a home filled with love and laughter. She enjoyed life with family
and friends. On Sunday mornings she would be in the 4th grade classroom, ready to teach. I got a
Facebook message from one of her students who remembers Mother teaching about Jesus which led
to her decision to believe. Mother and Dad were members at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, TX.
She was also a Girl Scout leader. She loved music and supported Becky, Judy, and Lindy in their
music. She loved the church choir.
Marian was a faithful member of Balboa Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at Balboa Baptist Church on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11am.

Arrangements are under the care of CedarVale Funeral Home, Hot Springs Village, AR and interment
will be in CedarVale Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Bruce Harvey, Bob Avery, Ruben Perez, Russell Harvey, Greg Hilbig, Aaron Perez,
Josh Brown, and Blake Davis.

Honorary pallbearers are the nursing staff at Belvedere Nursing and Rehab.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Balboa Baptist Church Music Ministry or the Celebration
