Mary Lou Moulton (1935-2023)

Mary Lou Moulton, 88, of Hot Springs Village, AR went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2023. Mary Lou lived 87 years in the Bethalto/Alton, IL area where she had many friends, family and loved ones. She moved to Arkansas in 2022 to be with her beloved son, Randy and her daughter-in-law Vickie Moulton.


She was born in Alton, IL on January 6, 1935 to the late Alvin and Irene (Legan) Hartley. She graduated from Bunker Hill High School in Bunker Hill, IL. She later attended many college courses and worked as a medical records director for Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL where she later retired.


Mary Lou was preceded in death by her beloved son, Richard Moulton, Jr., two precious granddaughters, Rachel Moulton and Stacy Thomason, long time friend, Virginia (Doo) Roach, one sister, Wynema Mize and one brother, Larry Hartley.

 

Mary Lou is survived by one sister, June Gerhard, one son, Randy (Vickie) Moulton of Hot Springs Village, AR; six grandchildren: Ranita (Toby) Keller of Edwardsville, IL, Andrea (Nolan) Pittman of Staunton, IL, Richard (Vanessa) Moulton III of Gillespie, IL, Randi (Greg) Pilkenton of Kinston, NC, Jennifer Moulton of Kinston, NC, and Danielle (Ryan) Croom of LaGrange, NC; 10 great-grandchildren, Kyndall, Mara, Grant, Allen, Donald, Ryan, Kailey, Kenley, Braxton & Emmitt; and 5 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.


Mary Lou loved the Lord. She attended church all her adult years at Bethalto United Methodist Church. While living at Good Samaritan in Hot Springs Village she loved to attend Pastor Dale’s devotions. She had a beloved Shih tzu, Jazzy, who was the most devoted pet. She loved to read her Bible, devotions and work on puzzles. She was the most loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.


A memorial service will be held at Good Samaritan Chapel in Hot Springs Village, AR at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 21st with a brief graveside prayer at 2:30 pm at the CedarVale Cemetery in Hot Springs Village, AR. Any memorials please send in remembrance to Bethalto United Methodist Church, Bethalto, IL.
