Richard "Rick" Ray Bonte

Rick Bonte of Hot Springs Village passed away June 26, 2022. He was born March 3, 1952 in Belmond, Iowa to Merle and Joyce Bonte.
Rick graduated from Belmond High School and attended college at Iowa State University in Ames, IA, where he received a B.A. in Political Science. After college, Rick moved back to Belmond and worked for his father as a plumber in the family business. In 1977 he married his wife Dixie and together they purchased Bonte Plumbing and Heating from Rick's father in 1980. They ran the business until 1999. In Belmond, Rick was active with the local chapter of the Jaycees and took pride in helping with their annual fireworks displays.
In 1999 Rick and Dixie moved to Hot Springs AR where Rick continued his plumbing career with City Plumbing and Electric, Inc. Rick, along with Ronnie Carroll and Elwen Guthrie, purchased the business in 2005 and ran the business together as City Plumbing Heating and Electric Inc. (CPHEI) until Rick retired in 2021 when Rick sold his shares in the company. During his time at CPHEI, Rick was a member of several civic groups and he helped organize charitable donations to local charities in the Hot Springs area. In his spare time, Rick liked to watch TV, loved to eat good food, and sit on the deck to look at the lake with Dixie.
Rick was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and younger brother Brian Bonte (Bev) of Hutchinson, MN. He is survived by step-son Steffan Paul (Angie) of Wichita, Kansas; and brother John (Martha) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

A visitation/sharing will be at CedarVale Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at CedarVale Cemetery.
