Virginia "Kathy" Coger Rutherford

Kathy Rutherford, 73 of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas laid down her sword and ran into the arms of Jesus on May 21, 2021 in Hot Springs following an 11-year courageous and dignified battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in El Paso County, Texas on October 11, 1947 to John and Geneva Coger.

She was a member of The Hot Springs Village Symphony Guild and The Christian Women’s group of Hot Springs Village. Kathy retired from Lucent Technologies in 1998. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and wife. She will forever be remembered for her compassion, faithful support, wit and charm. She was the epitome of class and grace. During her retired years she enjoyed traveling with her husband, which included Francis Custom Tours and frequenting Murry’s Dinner Playhouse as well as playing chicken foot dominoes and puzzles.

She is survived by her husband Ron, and their five children; Lisa and husband Kris of Pendleton, Indiana; David and wife Lisa of Dunnellon, Florida; Wesley of Windsor, California; Jodie and fiance’ Ethan of Bossier City, Louisiana; Amanda and husband Shannon of Mamou, Louisiana, Daughter-in-Law Tammy of Clovis, California. 13 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Brother John and wife Linda of Mansfield, Arkansas. 2 nieces and 1 nephew and her beloved cat Niko.
She is predeceased by her parents John & amp; Geneva Coger of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at CedarVale Chapel from 6:00 PM to 8:00PM Funeral Services by Brother Landon Robin will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at CedarVale Chapel at 1:00 PM with internment following services at CedarVale Cemetery.

Because of their expert and compassionate care, we gained many more years with our beloved mom and wife. We also send our sincere gratitude to Arkansas Hospice at CHI St. Vincent in HotSprings for their compassion and kindness in caring for her. In final we would also like to give special thanks to Brother Landon Robin from South Bossier Baptist Church in Bossier City, La for blessing us with presence during such a difficult time.
