Carl Howard Langston, 82, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away into the arms of the Lord August 22th of 2020 Carl was born in Mountain Home Arkansas to Inza Hicks and Owen Langston on December 14th 1937, Carl was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws Ernest and Ruth Tarter, his sister Dalcie Kenyon, and three brothers Jack and his wife Virginia, Bill, and Wayne. He is survived by his loving wife Norma Jean Tarter, two sons Bruce and his wife Valerie, and Kevin. Four Grandchildren Christopher Langston and his wife Moneek with Sydney on the way of Knoxville, TN, Danielle Langston and Fiance Billy Ross, Kay Dee and Husband Wade Page, and Kyle Langston and his wife Lana all of Hot Springs, AR. Two great Grandchildren Bentlee and Haley Ruth Page with Brooks Page on the way. A sister in-law Norma Faye Langston and Brother in-law Ralph Kenyon, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carl was a proud member of the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam. When Carl left the Air Force he worked for the Seaboard Railroad, before he went on in to a very successful career as an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor at TWA in Kansas City, MO, then American Airlines in Tulsa,OK, and eventually Areocel in Hot Springs,AR, after retirement Carl didn't slow down he became a Professor at Rich Mountain Collage and National Park Community College teaching aircraft mechanics and management. In the 1970's Carl Co-managed the reconstruction of the Northrop Alpha (now hanging in the the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum) and The Star of Switzerland and The Connie (At the Pima Air Musium, in Tuscon,AZ). He was a youth leader for the Methodist Church in Platte Woods for five years doing work mission trips with is wife and sons. Carl spent time in the late 80's and 90's square dancing. He also spent several years substitute teaching at Lake Hamilton School District, he loved teaching his kids. He was a softball coach for the Purple Girls going with his team to the Little League World Series. Carl was Scout Leader for Troop 314 in Platte Woods, MO, for his boys, and later for local Troop and Crew 65 with his grandkids, spending several summers at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation in Osceola, MO, a proud member of the Tribe of MicO'Say. He loved to travel, hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. Carl lead a life he loved, but his wife, his boys, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. His close family with have a private memorial for Carl at a later date, instead of flowers Carl would want a donation to "LivelikeBrice", "Kamo's Kids", or Piney Grove United Methodist Church.
