On August 16, 2025, Carolyn Lefler, beloved wife and mother, passed away. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and is survived by her children Tracey (Jack) Salter, Tom (Cindy) Lefler, and Mark (Kate) Lefler, 8 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
A native of Little Rock, Carolyn attended Hendrix College where she met Bill. They married in 1955 and spent the next 33 years in the Army traveling the world. After retirement they moved to Hot Springs Village in 1994. She was loving, smart, funny in a very quiet way, a talented seamstress, athletic, a gourmet chef, had a lovely voice, and was the most welcoming of hostesses. In the Village, she joined the Village United Methodist church choir, Cedar Mountain Singers, and P.E.O. As an avid tennis player, she played on the super senior national championship team in 2006. She grew up a southern cook and received her certification from Le Cordon Bleu school of cooking in Paris, France. Carolyn had an amazing green thumb and loved showing off her tomatoes and flowers to family and friends. She had a gracious, nurturing personality and was known for her mischievous wit and occasional stern looks.
She loved her family unconditionally and was truly the heart of the Lefler family. She was a shining example of what a wife, mother, friend, and sister should aspire to be. The family would like to express deep gratitude to all her caregivers who provided care and friendship over the last few years.
Her celebration of life will be on 29 August 2025 at 11:00 am at Village United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the P.E.O. scholarship fund. Checks can be made out to P.E.O. Chapter DC and mailed to Kathy Dinges, 30 Surtidor Way, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas 71909
