Elizabeth Josephine Schweighart, 85, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 28, 2022. She was born July 19, 1936, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. She married Richard in 1953 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1954. In January of 1969 she became a U.S. citizen. She was so proud of that accomplishment and took her right to vote very seriously.
Preceding her in death were her parents Michael Fowlow and Alma Catherine (Soper) Fowlow; husband, Richard Schweighart; sisters Catherine Martin and Madonna Daly; brother Edward Fowlow.
She is survived by her three children, Deborah (Dwayne) Garrett of Hot Springs Village; Michael Schweighart, Show Low, AZ and Kathryn (John) Stuckemeyer of Richardson, TX. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Danielle Dedrick of Thompsons Station, TN; Jack and Jessica Stuckemeyer of Richardson, TX; and her great grandchildren, Cameron and Josephine Dedrick of Thompsons Station, TN.
Her sister, Amy Ballak and nephews Ricky and Marty Ballak of Joliet, IL.
She leaves her brothers-in-law and their wives and children whom she loved as her family.
Faith in God and love for her family were her highest priority. She enjoyed family dinners, playing cards and crossword puzzles. She was always the life of the party and loved making new friends.
There will be a Rosary and Memorial Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Hot Springs Village, AR on March 17, 10:30 a.m.
Funeral arrangements are provided by CedarVale Funeral Home, Hot Springs Village, AR
A private prayer service for internment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Ivesdale, Illinois in late spring.
