Gary Lee Hoskinson, 82 of the Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, stepped into the presence of his lord on May 23, 2020. Gary was born August 12, 1937 son of Lawrence Hoskinson and Louise (Griffeth) Hoskinson. Gary worked and retired after 25 years with Caterpillar Tractor in Mt Joy, Iowa as a tool design engineer. He also worked for J.I. Case and John Deere. Gary married Lorena McCartney from Davenport Iowa October 6, 1984. They moved from Bettendorf, Iowa to Hot Springs Village in 1995. Gary had such a passion for life and sensitivity to everyone he met. His honesty and respect that he showed his wife and all others was one of his amazing attributes. Gary had a God given talent to for writing heart felt poetry, one of which was published in Readers Digest. He was an avid golfer and loved playing the Village courses. Gary enjoyed billiards and had the honor to play in exhibition with the world champion Willie Masconi. Recently Gary displayed his kind generosity by helping the McCauley center acquire new billiard tables for the current and future seniors to come. Gary also enjoyed fishing, oil painting, and maintaining a beautiful yard. Gary’s outstanding personality, sense of humor and wit allowed him to meet many new and long lasting friends. His wife Lorena feels truly blessed to have spent 44 years of happiness with a devoted, loving, and compassionate husband. Gary’s memory will be deeply cherished and kept alive by his wife and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert Hoskinson, James Hoskinson; sisters, Delores (Hoskinson) Fuller, Linda Hoskinson, Daut. Those left to honor his memory included his wife Lorena (McCartney) Hoskinson, sister Patricia (Hoskinson) Dunham, niece Julie (Dunham) Wilson and nephew Scott Dunham.
