Gladys Kathleen Rees Grippe of Hot Springs Village Arkansas passed away, November 8, 2019.
She was born on January 6 1918 and was the youngest daughter born in Edinburgh, Scotland to Frederick Hugh and Mary Jane Rees. Her sisters were Rhoda Lillian and Ethel Mary. Gladys is preceded in death by her family and her husband William Joseph and her sons Ronald James and Kerry Joseph Grippe and well as a multitude of friends. She leaves behind her son Glen William Grippe3 and his wife Ann Marie Grippe, grandson Robert Brian Grippe of Somerset, KY and granddaughter Karen E. Adams of Sweet Home, Oregon, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Gladys was a war bride in Bournemouth, England and she met her husband William during World War 2 in London. She was a secretary in the War Department and he was a doctor in General Patton’s 5th Army, 103ed Evacuation Hospital. They were married 64 years prior to William’s passing. Gladys enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as sewing, knitting and working crossword puzzles, she appreciated plants and animals and she was voracious reader! Glenn and Anna want to convey a very special thank you to all at Good Samaritan Society, Hot Springs Village who gave love and support to Gladys and her son Glen and family during her life in the assisted and nursing and rehab facilities.
