Obituary for Glenda G. Klein
February 23, 1940 – November 7, 2025
Glenda was born in St. Louis, Missouri, the youngest of three children. She and her husband, Al, were introduced on a blind date and went on to share 51 wonderful years together. They had four children: Jeff, Jill, and twins Cathy and Cristy. Al and Glenda moved to Hot Springs Village in 1976 when Al took the role of General Manager. They lived, worked and raised their family here until they moved to the Branson area in 1994. No matter where they lived the family was always on, in or near lakes and rivers fishing, boating and camping. Glenda returned to Hot Springs Village in 2013 after Al passed away. Glenda enjoyed her longest friendships, supported her community, and made many wonderful memories while living in the Village.
She grew up loving music; gospel and rock'n'roll were her favorites. She sang in choirs, trios and quartets from the time she was in high school. She and other ladies founded the “Village Trio” and sang songs at events and functions around the Village. She always found joy and calm in singing and listening to music, a trait she has passed on to her children.
Glenda stayed active playing tennis and dancing and was a member on several bowling leagues over the years. On Spring and Summer days you could find her outside tending to flowers and gardening.
Glenda was an avid traveler, first as a child riding in the back of her parents’ car with her father at the wheel driving all over the country, then with her husband Al, and later with their own children. Glenda was able to see much of the country and visit several National Parks, the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, the Gulf shore and many places in between.
Glenda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Al, her brother Robert Ferguson and sister Arelene Lloyd. She was deeply loved by her children and their families; Jeff Klein and his wife Donna, Jill Smith and her husband Austin, Cristy O’Brien and her husband Eron, and Cathy Manuel and her husband Rob. She cherished her family and leaves behind a loving legacy in her 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Glenda Klein will be held Saturday, November 15th at 2:00pm at the Village Bible Church, 100 Ponderosa Way, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909. Reception to follow.
Her children encourage Glenda’s friends to bring and share written memories or photos and place them in the box provided to celebrate and remember the special moments you've shared with their mother.
