Hildegard Ruth Ronning (Nee Schieber) 88 Years old, of Hot Springs Village, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026.

Hilde was born on May 4, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents were Herbert and Hildegard Wuttke Schieber. She was preceded in death by her parents and dearly beloved husband and best friend Richard A. Ronning on March 23, 2017.

Hilde was a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a BA in Education in 1960. She had her MA from the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois. She was a gifted Teacher for twenty years.

Hilde had many wonderful gifts from God that she shared with friends and the churches she belonged to over her lifetime. She was an accomplished pianist dating back to her Baptist upbringing at the Foster Avenue Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. Hilde has kept in touch with some of her dear friends from this church for her entire life. Birthday cards, phone calls etc. It was such a joy to receive a card from Hilde, some had her beautiful artwork, and her handwriting was the most amazing calligraphy.

She loved to paint and keep up with her friends with her special gift of art and writing.

Hilde loved painting, reading, listening to and playing Religious and Classical music. She loved Visiting Garvan Gardens in Hot Springs with Rich and her friends. Especially in spring for all the tulips and spring flowers. Christmas was not to be missed at the gardens. They both loved Anthony Chapel and the Carillon. This place of beauty gave Hilde peace.

Both Hilde and Rich belonged to Mountainside Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village. They were both very active at the very beginning of this church. They were involved in the planning, and Rich designed the first Mountainside Church sign that was on DeSoto Blvd. Hilde enjoyed playing the piano during Praise and Worship time and belonged to the original “Funtimers Group”. She helped make many beautiful craft items to have in the craft fairs at church. Hilde later belonged to Village United Methodist Church, in Hot Springs Village.

Hilde was a caring, compassionate friend to many. She leaves a lasting, loving, and Godly impression on the hearts of all who knew her.

There will be no Service.
