Howard Emery Baldwin

Howard Emery Baldwin, 99, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away, Monday, July 14th, 2025. He was born October 4th, 1925 in Portland, Oregon, to the late Melvin Milton and Emma Katherine (McCrum) Baldwin. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife, Jeanette (Holroyd) Baldwin and all of his siblings.

Howard is survived by his daughters, Laura Ann ( Rodney) Stecher and Wendy Diane (Randy) Pearson and his son Thomas William (Kathy) Baldwin, his grandchildren, Jason McVey, Eric McVey, James Pearson, Chris Pearson and Tyson Baldwin, great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Howard was very proud of his education and was a proud veteran of our United States Army Air Force where he served during World War II but his fondest memories was at the births of his 3 children. He enjoyed his working career in the paper industry and his retirement to the Hot Springs Village. “All great times with loving and caring people”.

He played the French horn in High School and the Hot Springs concert band for 15 years. He was a member of the State of Oregon and Oregon State University sports halls of fame. He was manager of Oregon State University basketball team in 1949 and they were 4th in the nation.

Howard stayed active with golf, music, athletics, walking, jogging, swimming, camping, boating, flying and reading.

Howard wants to be remembered “as a good person who dearly loved God, his family, friends and country.

Funeral will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 24 at The Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines with a reception to follow after the service. Rev. Randy Hyde will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask you to consider donations to be made in Howard’s memory to the Hot Springs Community Band and/or St Jude’s Hospital.
