Lois Lee Turner Oswald, 75, passed away on November 2, 2025 at home after a 22 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on June 15, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and spent her formative years in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo, Iowa before moving to Minneapolis (Richfield) Minnesota in the 6th grade. She was a 1968 graduate of Richfield High and a 1972 graduate of University of Minnesota-Duluth with a degree in physical education. She taught middle school and grade school physical education in the Duluth school system for 27 years retiring in 2010. She loved teaching swimming to kids and continued to do so after retiring and moving to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. She was an active tennis player into her 30s and then became an enthusiastic golfer after her knees gave out. She especially loved her Monday morning Winers golf group in the Village.

She met her husband Jim as a freshman at UMD and they were married on July 7, 1973 and spent 52 years together. Jim and Lois raised their family living in Duluth, Minnesota from 1973 until 2012 except for a seven year period when they lived in Erie and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (1983 until 1989). After retirement, Lois and Jim lived in Hot Springs Village from 2012 until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Dwight and Famous Fagg Turner. She is survived by her husband, Jim, brother J.D. (Rita) Turner of Hot Springs Village, daughter Gretchen (Jake) MacCarrick of Baltimore, Maryland; son Kevin (Dana) Oswald of Omaha, Nebraska; and daughter, Carrie (Andy) Evans of Conifer, Colorado. Grandchildren Mallory and Reid Oswald and Jack, Brooks and Ramsey Evans, with many many nieces and nephews.

She loved her husband, children and especially her grandchildren. She held all her friends over the years close to her heart including a special group of former Duluth teacher friends, and all her Hot Springs Village friends through golf, book club and bible studies.

Lois became a Wish grantor for Make-A-Wish Mid-South after retiring and proudly loved helping sick young people in their Make-A-Wish dreams. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Make-A-Wish Mid-South (place HSV-Lois Oswald in the check memo location)
