Lorraine A. (Cutler) Dickenscheidt, age 93, passed away August 17, 2026 at Mt. Carmel Community at the Village in Hot Springs Village, AR.
Lorraine who was originally from Chicago, Illinois was raised by her parents Harvey and Estelle Cutler.
She met John Dickenscheidt and they were married April 16, 1955. They raised 4 children in the suburbs of Chicago. Lorraine and John retired to Hot Springs Village, AR in 1994 and enjoyed a very active life there. They both enjoyed golfing and socializing with their neighbors. Lorraine was known to not turn down a good scotch and water.
Lorraine lost John in 2008 and continued live in the Village until she passed away. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and knitting. She was very talented when it came to her knitting. She had made some beautiful items and enjoyed the knitting groups she was involved with. Lorraine became involved with the Genealogy Club with a neighbor and found that she is a direct descendant of the Mayflower and the American Revolution to become a member of the Daughters of the Revolution DAR. She was able to trace her family back at least 35 generations.
As Lorraine aged she was diagnosed with dementia and struggled with her memory which affected her knitting. She struggled with her health at times and in the last year after numerous falls, she went to live at Mt. Carmel in the Assisted Living area. Lorraine's health began to decline over the last year of her life and she moved to the Memory Care unit.
In addition to her parents, and her brother Harvey Cutler, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband John Dickenscheidt.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. David (Dana): Konrad (Morgan) Kaden & Madison, Kyle; Craig (Sarah): Brad (Nicole) Ava, Peyton & Juliana, Ken (Kerri) Finley, Keith (Heather); Gail (Mark) Krolik: Chase & Josh; John (Becky): Emma, Madeline & Nate. Along with other family and friends who will miss her.
At Lorraine's request, there will be no service or gathering as a memorial. She was cremated and interned in the Memory Garden with her husband John at Christ of the Hills Methodist Church in the Village.
