Marget (Peggy) Arwood of Hot Springs Village passed away August 26, 2026.
Born January 22, 1937 in Warren, Ohio to Chester and Celia Paden, now deceased.
She is survived by her husband, Major General(retired) Thomas Arwood, her son John, and granddaughter Selena Gillem of Redford, Michigan, brother Robert Paden wife Velma of Sparta, TN.
Peggy attended Bowling Green State University In Ohio graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Home Economics.
She met her husband, Tom, while attending the University.
Peggy was a supporter of her husband's military career of thirty four years making twenty three moves until settling in Hot Springs Village. Prior to her marriage she worked as a Home Economist for the East Ohio Gas Company in Warren, Ohio. During their military years she taught second, fifth and sixth grades. Prior to her husband's retirement from the military she worked in the education department at Mount Vernon.
During her years in the Village she served nine years on the POA Recreation Committee two years as chairperson. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter DE, board member of Hot springs Village St. Joseph hospital board, served on the board of directors of the Paul Bewie Boys and Girls Club, board member of Friends of the Village, served on the Advisory Board of the Good Samaritan Society, corresponding secretary and member at large of the HSV Republican Women's Club. Co-Chairperson for the HS/HSV Symphony Guild Harmony of Homes Tour.
She was a member of Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church.
