Patricia Kay McPheters (Pat), 84, a 30 year resident of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed peacefully on Saturday, April 19th, 2025 with her family at her side. She was born August 28, 1940, in Normal, Illinois, spending her entire childhood and young adulthood in Springfield, IL. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Clyde & Doris (Watkins) Stein and beloved grandparents, Verne & Zelma (Six) Watkins
Pat is survived by her loving and devoted husband Richard McPheters. Together they shared a beautiful 35 year marriage built on their Christian faith, love, laughter, passion for traveling the world and most importantly their family. She is also survived by her Children, Bonner Alan Brown (Alan Anderson) of Toronto, ON Canada, Richard Norman Brown (Evelyn) of Arlington, Washington, Steven Richard McPheters (Quita) of Springtown, Texas, Kim McPheters Wojick (Steve) of Naperville, Illinois and Lisa Michelle Furstenau (TJ) also of Naperville, Illinois, 10 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren and her Sister Joyce Marie Copp (David) of Springfield, Illinois, 3 Nephews and 6 Great Nieces and Nephews
Pat graduated from Springfield High School (Illinois) "Class of 1958" and she kept in close touch with her fellow graduates and never missed a class reunion. She took great pride in her career as a Travel Agent (CTC) She started her career in travel with Ozark Airlines in 1958 and then moved into working at travel agencies. She has been a travel agent for the past 64 years, owning her own agencies at one point and managing large corporate agencies. Since moving to HSV 30 years ago, she managed the HSV offices of Sue Smith Vacations/Vacation Valet. One of her great joys was to be able to help people explore this amazing world, having personally visited over 70 countries and 47 States in her lifetime. She was passionate about her work as a Stephen Ministry Leader, as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, her Shepherd Group at Kirk in the Pines and her work and involvement with P.E.O.
There will be a Celebration of Pat's Life Saturday, May 10th, 2025, 11am at Kirk in the Pines, 275 Asturias Drive, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas 71909 with a reception to follow. The family asks that you please wear bright vibrant colors to celebrate Pat's love of color.
