Robert Edward Edscorn, 82 of Hot Springs Village, Ark. died Sat. Aug. 23, 2025 in Hot Springs, Ark. of respiratory failure, surrounded by his wife Kit Edscorn of Hot Springs Village; his daughter Sandi Edscorn-White and son-in-law John White of Germantown, Tenn.; and his son Steven Edscorn and daughter-in-law Melissa Kash of Tulsa, Okla.

Edscorn was born June 23, 1943 in St. Louis, Mo. to Benjamin Ernest Edscorn (1902-1977) and Ruth Ray Edscorn (1916-1948). After Ruth’s death, he was raised by Benjamin and his stepmother Louise Bowles Edscorn (1918-2007). He graduated from Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School in 1961.

Edscorn met his wife, Kit Walker Edscorn while studying at the University of Tulsa in 1964. The couple married on Sept. 4, 1965 in St. Joseph, Mo.

Edscorn studied at the University of Missouri, the University of Tulsa, and Drake University before graduating from Regis College in 1983.

Edscorn worked in accounting for Skelly Oil Company in Tulsa, Des Moines, and Denver; managed a Union 76 truck stop in Wheat Ridge, Colo.; and served as an accountant for Mobil Oil Corp. in Denver and Dallas. While working for Mobil, Edscorn learned to program in Kobol, and at one point wrote the database software that ran Mobil’s Dallas Accounting Center.

Robert and Kit retired in 1996 and moved to Hot Springs Village, where they were active in Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church, and enjoyed life on Lake Cortez. Edscorn particularly enjoyed waterskiing while growing up. In retirement, he enjoyed driving the boat for skiers including his children, their partners, and his grandchildren.

In addition to those who were with him when he died, Edscorn is survived by two grandchildren: Cora Edscorn, age 24, of Bixby, Okla.; and Grant Edscorn, age 21, of Tahlequah, Okla.
