Robert Lee Lambert, 80, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born June 29, 1946, in Fontana, California, Bob lived a life full of adventure, hard work, friendship, and faith.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Snohomish. After his service, he joined the Los Angeles City Fire Department, where he quickly rose to the rank of Captain. He spent many years involved in helicopter rescue before retiring.

A man of many talents, Bob raised honeybees, operated a Christmas tree-flocking business, and bred Arabian horses on his ranch near San Luis Obispo, California. His greatest love, however, was the ocean.

After retiring, Bob and his wife, Margie, bought and renovated a 45-foot sailboat and set sail for Costa Rica. Their journey took two years as they explored along the way. They spent five years living aboard, eventually buying property and building two homes in Costa Rica. Returning to the United States, they spent more than a year living aboard a trawler while cruising the Intracoastal Waterway before settling in Beaufort, South Carolina. A motorhome trip later brought them to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, which became their final home.

The adventures continued with motorcycles, membership in the local Harley club, and later Corvettes and the Hot Springs Village Corvette Club. Following a serious motor scooter accident in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Bob and Margie faced a long recovery together, including six months sharing a room in rehabilitation. Back home, Bob returned to golfing with the Suds Brothers and pursuing his passion for restoring classic cars at his Gasoline Alley shop, where he enjoyed both the work and the camaraderie.

Throughout his life, Bob's faith in God remained foremost. He and Margie were active members of All Saints Anglican Church in Hot Springs Village, where Bob served on the Vestry and helped build the new church. His faith was steadfast, and he was rarely absent from Sunday worship.

Bob often said, “I'm not afraid of dying. I know where I'm going.” His confidence in his Lord and Savior reflected the deep faith that guided his life.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Margie; daughter Angela Lipanovich (Jan); son David Lipanovich (Colleen); five granddaughters (Kylie, Mikayla, Milena, Tazia, Zorah); two grandsons (Asher, Kenny); two great-granddaughters (Belle, Iris); brother Steve Mitchell (Rosalind); sister Carol Selander; and many dear friends who will miss him greatly.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 14, at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Anglican Church, 3 Jardinero Drive, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.
